Visit Stirling Castle and the Trossachs National Park
Stirling Castle is your first stop on this private tour. One of the best examples of a medieval castle in Europe. See the private chambers of the Kings and Queens as they would have been in the 16th century. Speak to one of Queens servants who will answer any questions and bring history to life! King James V built the Royal Palace as a wedding present for his wife and since it has been beautifully restored in 2011, Stirling Castle was awarded the best loved historic attraction in the UK!
Scotland is a land of lochs and legends. Visit Loch Katrine in the heart of The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. This loch was the inspiration for the Sir Walter Scott poem “Lady of the Lake”. The beautifully restored steamship cruises along the loch and allows us to see the boathouse built for Queen Victoria as well as the stunning scenery and wildlife of the area. Take a walk or cycle along the loch side. Cruise on the Loch then enjoy a well deserved ice cream enjoying the views.
On the east bank of Loch Lomond we will visit the peaceful and picturesque village of Balmaha. This is a popular stop for those on the long distance walking trail of the West Highland Way. We will enjoy the views across Scotland’s largest loch and see the fisherman relaxing with their rods on the shore.
To complete our tour we visit Deanston Distillery. A whisky distillery with a huge sense of history as it started life as a cotton mill in the 18th century on the banks of the River Teith. After 180 years Deanston was transformed into a distillery and is one of the few distilleries to allow visits to the Bonded warehouse. Enjoy a wee dram after the tour and savour the delights of Scotland’s national drink!
