Wee Hidden Gems

Discover Scotland’s best kept secrets

Join us on a journey to visit some of Scotland’s more unusual special attractions. From our selection of wee hidden gems, you can select your favourites to create your very own tour!

Visit the extremely atmospheric Doune Castle. This near complete castle sits in stunning Stirlingshire countryside. The great hall and tower are very impressive. Featuring in Monty Python and the Holy Grail , blockbuster Game of Thrones and Outlander (2014).

Tucked away beside Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park you visit Scotland’s only Lake, The Lake of Menteith. Take a short scenic boat trip to the peaceful, wooded island sanctuary with Inchmahome Priory (1238) at its heart. Amazingly atmospheric.

Another well kept secret is the small cathedral city of Dunblane – home of world-class tennis pro, Andy Murray. You can admire one of Scotland’s finest medieval churches, built in the 1200’s and extensively restored in the 1800’s. Still at the heart of the local community and used daily for services, concerts and other activities.

You will want to spend some time in the High Street visiting the local gift shops, walking by the river, or exploring the quirky Dunblane Museum.
Your Tour may also include a visit to see the hugely impressive bird of prey – the Red Kite. The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds set up a reintroduction site at Argaty, a farm near Doune.

Red Kites had been extinct in Scotland for 180 years. If you see this secretive bird with its beautiful colours and five foot wingspan, you will be telling your friends for years!
